Apple launches its cheapest iPad

Apple has always been known for their high priced expensive products. But this time they went a little off-road and have released the cheapest iPad.

The company along with the release of this claims to combat the likes of Google‘s Chromebook and other laptops available in the market. The iPads should reach in India, Thailand, Russia, Turkey and other countries by April.

It is priced at ₹28,000 for 32GB variant with Wi-Fi and ₹38,600 for 32GB Wi-Fi + Cellular variant. The iPad sports a 9.7-inch Retina display along with an Aluminium unibody reconstruction. It comes with TouchID. However, there’s no FaceID like iPhone X. So, it certainly misses out on the famous face-lock Apple brought with the iPhone X.

The device sports an 8 MP rear shooter as well. The camera is expected to be better than the previous iPads and should do the job most of the time. The new 9.7 inch iPad will be able to use Apple’s Pencil stylus, which costs an additional Rs 7,600. This is certainly something fishy, as you don’t even get the stylus free despite paying for a 28k iPad.

The Apple Pencil will come with its own set of apps. There’s also support for third-party accessories like Logitech keyboard and Crayon pencil. Apple Pencil was first introduced for iPad Pro. Apple iPad runs on A10 Fusion processor with 64-bit desktop-class architecture and supports 300MBps LTE. Sensors include GPS, Compass, accelerometer, and gyroscope. Apple claims that the all-new iPad will “enable incredible AR experiences simply not possible on other devices.
