Apple may launch a foldable iPhone sooner than you thought, claims report.
Apple, the smartphone giant may be working on a foldable iPhone as reported by some rumors. In a research report, Wamsi Mohan has said that “We expect the iPhones this fall to be largely unchanged for the OLED versions. Although size changes have proved to be a catalyst in the past. Our checks also suggest that Apple is working with suppliers on a foldable phone (that potentially could double up as a tablet) for launch in 2020.”
In fact, even the Korean Media had reported back in October 2017 that Apple and LG had something secret going underneath. Despite the fact, Apple is not the only company working on foldable smartphones. Lenovo has already done some work on this and even showcased a concept smartphone with a foldable screen. A Bloomberg report also suggested that this time Apple is working itself on its displays rather than depending on other manufacturers.
The report further said that MicroLED screens come with different light-emitting compounds. It is because of this that the gadgets with these screens are slimmer, brighter and less power-hungry as compared to those which have OLED displays. Apple has named this project as T159 headed by Lynn Youngs, who heads iPhone and Apple watch technology.
