Google hit a big blow in the market with the launch of its Pixel and Pixel XL device range in the last couple of years. But, these two devices were high-end smartphones and out of reach for a normal consumer. So this time reports suggest that Google is coming with a mid-range Pixel device as well. Chinese blog Qooah has reported that the company will be launching three smartphones this year called Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL and a third mid-range Pixel smartphone.
The blog reveals that the mid-range smartphone is codenamed as ‘Desire’ and it will run Android Go operating system. It is noteworthy that Google acquired HTC’s smartphone engineering team and the Taiwanese company’s mid-range smartphone product portfolio is also called Desire. If this comes out to be true then it will be a time to rejoice for the Nexus line up fans as Nexus devices offered best Android experience in the budget segment. Apart from this, another report has popped online suggesting the Google has accidentally revealed the name of its next-generation flagship smartphone.
The name was first spotted by XDA Developers as a commit, titled “Cherrypick ‘Add device config to decide which Auto Selection Network UI to use”.
