Twitter Wants 336 Million Users To Change Password, a Bug Exposed Them In Plain Text.
Paraga Agarwal, CTO of Twitter, adviced in a post of a microblogging site that Twitter users to change their password. Because there was a bug in their password encrypting system. When you set a password in twitter, they’re using an encryption technology that masks it so no one at the company can see it.
They recently identified a bug that stored passwords unmasked in an internal log. They have fixed the bug, and their investigation shows no indication of breach or misuse by anyone. Because of this reason and as a precaution, they wants their users to change the password.
