Ai+ Price Hike: Buy Before 15 November or Climb One Rung Up?

Budget phone shoppers, here is your heads-up for the week. The Ai+ price hike is official: seven Ai+ phones will cost Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 more from 15 November 2026, and the old prices stay only until 14 November. That gives you roughly two and a half weeks, with Diwali on 8 November sitting right in the middle. So should you rush to grab a Pulse or Nova now, or is this the moment to look at the rest of the market? We crunched every variant so you can decide in five minutes, not five evenings.

Short version: a few of these hikes are steep enough to justify buying early, one is almost a rounding error, and the smartest move for many buyers is not “buy now” but “buy one rung higher now”.

Ai+ price hike: the full old vs new list

Ai+ announced the revision on 28 October, blaming higher component and input costs. This is the second round this year, after an earlier hike in August. Here is every affected variant, with our own percentage maths added at the end of each line.

Pulse series (4G phones)

Nova 2 and Nova 2 Neo (entry 5G)

Nova 2 Power, Pro and Ultra (upper budget 5G)

The NovaFlip 5G (8GB/256GB) is the only phone spared. It stays at Rs 49,999.

One big asterisk: for the Power, Pro and Ultra, the “now” prices already include bank offers. If your card is not eligible, what you pay today is higher, which means your real saving from buying early is smaller than the gap above. Check the price shown without the card offer before you celebrate.

The slow creep nobody notices

Single hikes look small. Stack them and the picture changes. When the Nova 2 5G launched in April, its 4GB/64GB variant cost Rs 8,999. From 15 November the same box will cost Rs 13,999. That is Rs 5,000 more, or about 56%, in roughly seven months, for a phone that has not changed at all.

The Nova 2 Ultra tells a softer but similar story. Its 6GB/128GB variant launched at Rs 16,999 in April and moves to Rs 20,999, a Rs 4,000 climb. The Pulse 2 base model, which launched at Rs 7,499 in March before offers, will cross Rs 10,000 too.

Ai+ is not alone here. Samsung, Oppo and Realme have also raised prices on select models as memory and component costs rise. So the bigger CyberIntro point is this: in late 2026, the budget phone you are eyeing may cost more next month whichever brand you pick. We explained how to spot sneaky mid-sale revisions in our guide to catching phone price hikes during sales, and the same habits apply here.

The ladder trick: why you should buy one rung up

Here is the part that makes this hike interesting. Line up the new prices next to today’s prices and you will notice they overlap almost perfectly:

Translation: if you had a fixed budget in mind for December, spending that same budget before 14 November gets you the next variant up, with more RAM, double the storage on the entry models, or, in the Ultra’s case, a whole tier jump. That is proper paisa vasool, and it is the only reason we would call this a “buy now” situation.

The Hike Ladder Test: four questions before 14 November

1. Were you going to buy a phone before the new year anyway?

If yes, the deadline helps you. If no, ignore the countdown. A price hike announcement is also a marketing nudge, and buying a phone you do not need is never a saving, even at the old price.

2. Is your card in the bank offer?

For the Power, Pro and Ultra, the advertised current price assumes an eligible card. Without it, the gap you are racing against shrinks. Our festive effective price guide walks through peeling offers layer by layer, so you know the number you are actually paying.

3. Can you climb one rung for the same money?

Use the ladder above. Never buy the 4GB/64GB variant at today’s price if your December budget would have been the new base price anyway. Take the 6GB/128GB now instead. 64GB fills up fast once WhatsApp media and a couple of games move in.

4. Does the rival in your budget beat it on the spec that matters to you?

Quickly compare one or two phones from other brands at the same price. Since several brands are revising prices, check today’s listed price, not launch-day headlines.

Three yes answers out of four? Buy before 14 November. Two or fewer? Relax, shop around, and do not let a countdown pick your phone for you.

Which Ai+ phone makes sense at which budget

Under Rs 11,000: Pulse 2

Fine for calls, UPI and YouTube. But 4G-only at Rs 10,999 after the hike is a tougher sell, so if you want this one, the old price is the time.

Rs 12,000 to Rs 16,000: Nova 2 5G

An easy 5G upgrade from the Pulse. Grab the 6GB/128GB at Rs 13,999 before the hike, which is the ladder trick in action.

Rs 16,000 to Rs 20,000: Pro, Power or Ultra

Our take: the Pro gets the smallest hike, only Rs 1,000 on the 6GB model, so there is no need to panic-buy it. The Ultra 8GB at Rs 19,999 with a card offer is the best “buy now” deal in the whole list, because after 15 November that money only buys a Pro or Power with an LCD screen. Battery addicts should note the Power and Pro 6GB both land at Rs 17,999 after the hike, so pick between the sharper 144Hz screen and the bigger 7,000mAh battery.

Small print that can bite

Final Thought

The Ai+ price hike is not a reason to buy a phone. It is a reason to buy smarter if you were already buying. Climb one rung on the ladder, check your card offer, and lock the order before 14 November. Not shopping this season? Then let the countdown tick by. Your wallet will thank you.
