Google launching smart speakers in India this month: Report

It’s official, Google launching smart speakers in India this month.

Just like smartphones. It’s now a battle for Smart Speakers as just after Amazon’s Echo. Google plans to launch its smart speakers named Google Home in India this month. This is confirmed by a tweet from the Giant’s official Twitter handle. Even though the Tweet does not reveal the date of the launch, Google has started sending out invites for an event scheduled for April 10.

The invite reads, “Join us as we bring you a sweet something that’s bound to keep you talking for a long, long while.” The Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, and the Echo Plus are priced at Rs 9,999, Rs 4,499 and Rs 14,999 respectively.

As of now, there is no word about the pricing of the Google Home speaker range in India. In the US, the Google Home is priced at $129 (approx Rs 8,400) and the Google Home Mini comes for $49 (roughly Rs 3,200).

The Google Home was launched in 2016, whereas the Google Home Mini was launched in 2017. The Google Home speakers will come equipped with Google Assistant and will be able to communicate with smart devices just through Voice Commands. Google confirms that by the end of the year Assistant will be available in more than 30 languages.
