MediaTek Helio P70 with dedicated AI engine launched. MediaTek has recently seemed to fall back in the race of chipsets as Qualcomm has been introducing many of its flagships in a row. But, this time MediaTek has come with a new generation processor claiming it to be significantly better than its predecessor.
Yes, we’re talking about Helio P60’s successor Helio P70. The company claims that the Helio P70 chipset improves imaging support, gaming performance and connectivity in comparison with the last generation Helio P60 processor. The chipset is currently under production and will be available to smartphone manufacturers by November. The MediaTek Helio P70 is based on TSMC’s 12nm FinFET technology and features four 2.1GHz ARM Cortex-A73 core along with four 2.0GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores.
The processor is paired with an ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU with a clock speed of up to 900MHz. The company claims the P70 is over 13 percent faster compared to the P60 chipset and optimizes touch latency, display visuals and frame rate jitter issues. It comes with a dedicated multi-core APU for better AI processing. Making video rendering more faster and smoother than before. Claims are also been made that chipset will offer better video call facility even in low bandwidth conditions. This makes it up to 30 percent more efficient to the AI processor present on the Helio P60 chipset.
The new chipset supports up to 32MP single camera setup and 24MP+16MP dual camera setups. It comes with three image signal processors.
