WiFi Gets A New Simplified Name Version WiFi 6.

Do you even know what is the present version of WiFi being used all across the globe?

It is — WiFi 802.11ac.

Don’t worry if you weren’t able to answer that, because it’s not easy for everyone to remember such complicated names. But, this time the WiFi Alliance- The group that is associated with providing and managing WiFi implementation all over the world has announced that soon they are going to launch a new version of WiFi called WiFi 6.

WiFi 6, based on the IEEE 802.11ax standard, will offer higher data rates, increased capacity, good performance—even in dense environments (such as stadiums or public venues) and improved power efficiency, making it perfect choice for smart home and Internet of Thing uses). So, of course, the standard older versions of WiFi will be named as WiFi 1, WiFi 2, and so on. Making it easier for people to recognize which WiFi version their devices are running on and support. This will certainly help them in keeping their devices up to date with the latest advanced WiFi capabilities.

Also, WiFi alliance has introduced new icons, which will make it easier to recognize and spot the exact WiFi version correctly. Besides this, the WiFi Alliance also expects manufacturers, operators and software developers to adopt these simple numerical indicators into their user interfaces, instead of classic lettered versions.
