Nokia 8.1 India Launch Expected as HMD Global Reschedules Event to Dec 10
Nokia was all set to release its new device 8.1 but due to some reasons, it seems the launch has been postponed to December 10 most probably. HMD Global since acquiring Nokia has been launching a range of devices and all have been a certain hit. All the devices have got the stock Android flavor and the best part is that Nokia has been constant in providing updates as well. Although Pie update for devices such as Nokia 8 yet remains to be released. All other devices have got an update on time mostly.
The Nokia 8.1 is said to be the global variant of the Nokia X7, so their specifications should match. That would mean the Nokia 8.1 is expected to run a stock version of Android Pie out-of-the-box. It will sport a 6.18-inch full-HD+ display with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass. The handset will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, paired with 4GB/ 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB/ 128GB of inbuilt storage. Storage on the Nokia 8.1 might be expandable via microSD card (up to 400GB). The Phone’s base variant is expected to priced at ₹20,000 and the higher variant to be a bit more expensive.
The phone is equipped with dual rear cameras running under Nokia’s own Carl Zeiss technology. On the front, the handset sports an 8-megapixel fixed focus sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree field-of-view. It will be interesting to see how the phone keeps up with the existing competition in the market.
