MAJOR security breach: British Airways Hacked and 380,000 customer payment details from British Airways

BRITISH Airways has called in the police after brazen hackers stole payment details from 380,000 customers over a period of almost two weeks, in a major breach of online security. The hackers stole the data includes name, phone number, address, and payment information. But they didn’t get the Passport information of the customers. The airline reported that it was stolen from their website and mobile app between Aug 21 and Sep 5.

Because of this data breach, it is advised to contact their bank or card providers to the customers who booked tickets through British Airways. It is also mentioned that that breach is now been resolved and no need to worry about ticket booking.

Alex Cruz, Chief Executive of British Airways, said in a statement: “We are deeply sorry for the disruption that this criminal activity has caused.  We take the protection of our customer’s data very seriously.”

Also, the UK’s National Crime Agency tweeted that they’re looking into the problem Information Commissioner official said that the agency will inquire about the incident.

It should be noted that last year a glitch in British Airways Hacked caused 700 flights to be canceled, affecting 75,000 customers. Till now, no Hackers group claimed for this hack.
